By Senior Times on March 1, 2025 50 Plus Show, Health
    Friday 14th 11am

Professor Cathal McCrory, a psychologist and expert in ageing and health, working at Trinity College Dublin and Co-Principal Investigator of The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) will be speaking and available to answer questions afterwards at 11am on Friday the 14th as part of the 50 Plus Show.

His research focuses on understanding why some people age faster than others and what factors might influence this, from genetics to everyday experiences. He looks at the body’s “biological clock” to see how it keeps track of ageing and how it might sometimes speed up or slow down.

In his talk, “How Does the Body Know How Old It Is?”, Professor McCrory will explore the fascinating ways our bodies measure time. He will discuss what science tells us about ageing and whether it’s possible to slow it down or even reverse some of its effects. His insights are sure to make you think differently about what it really means to grow older!
