Created during lockdown John McColgan recorded a brand new series of six podcasts from his little studio in Howth. An avid fan of music all his life, the lockdown gave John the chance to research and record the six 90-minute podcast shows.

Speaking of the podcast John explains what it is all about, ‘Its song, stories, poetry and memories of parts of my life. My Tunes is a very eccentric and eclectic mix from Elvis to Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen to Bob Dylan, Seamus Heaney to Seamus O’Rourke, Maureen Potter to Eamon Kelly along with a splattering of country music. It may sound like a mess, but as modest as I can be, I think it is very entertaining!’

Recorded over the last number of weeks, John endeavoured to record each episode as one, though sometimes with a little editing help from Mark Murphy, John’s good friend Mike Murphy’s son. The result is 6 wonderfully entertaining walks through a selection of the music, stories and memories across John’s life and career.
