One of the new exhibitors signed on to The 50 Plus Show is Mimitoys.ie. Mimitoys.ie is an online toyshop based in rural Meath. Last week we caught up with the owner Myriam Doyle for a chat
Myriam was brought up in rural South of France. “my Grand-Parents minded me after school and we were always playing.”
Myriam recalls the fun playing board games and card games. “in reflection a lot of my skills and interests were learned through the games I played with them”.
“In 2004 with my own children I wanted to replicate those special moments of playing and learning and tried to find toys in that area” added Myriam. “Quickly I realised these toys were hard to find, and that is when I started Mimitoys.ie”.
Mimitoys.ie now has the largest selection of children’s puppets in Ireland, one puppet was famously reviewed on The Late Late Toy Show last December.
“Our wide range of creative and hands-on art packs are from an award winning French supplier and we have an excellent selection of traditional toys such as tea-sets, knitting sets and family board games”.
Myriam is clear on what her toys should do, but she’s also clear on what toys she does not want, “the toys must be screen free, non battery-operated and no weapon look-a-likes”
The French business woman is looking forward to exhibiting at The 50 Plus Show in April. “I am passionate about our 3000+ toy range and I hope to share that passion on our stand – I’ll be exhibiting mostly puppets, art & crafts packs and some traditional board games.”
Mimitoys.ie will be exhibiting at The 50+ Show. Their contacts are www.mimitoys.ie / 046 955 8977 / mimi@mimitoys.ie /
