Stronger Bones, Stronger Me: How fit20 Helped Me Turn the Tide on Osteoporosis

In my 50’s and navigating life with an osteoporosis diagnosis, I knew I needed to make some changes—not just for my health, but for my future. I had read about fit20 and was intrigued by the concept: one 20-minute session a week, focused strength training with a personal trainer in a private, climate-controlled studio. It sounded manageable, even for someone like me who never enjoyed traditional gyms.

Before discovering fit20, I had tried other fitness options. Unfortunately, I found them uninspiring. The atmosphere often felt overwhelming, and I lacked the motivation to stick with it. I needed something more personal, more focused, and most importantly, something that would help improve my bone health.

    That’s when I joined fit20, and I haven’t looked back.

What makes fit20 truly unique is its simplicity and effectiveness. Each week, I train one-on-one with my instructor Kevin, who is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuinely supportive. He takes the time to answer my questions and ensures that each session is tailored to my needs and abilities.

It took a few weeks to notice changes, but gradually I began to feel stronger, both physically and mentally. I started to look forward to each session and the sense of accomplishment it gave me. The real turning point came when I had a DEXA scan and saw a significant improvement in my bone density. It was an empowering moment. I knew then that the effort I was putting in was truly making a difference.

For anyone living with osteoporosis, resistance training is one of the most effective ways to improve bone density. It stimulates bone growth, slows bone loss, and builds muscle that helps protect joints and prevent falls. fit20’s method is particularly well suited for this. The slow, controlled movements are gentle on the joints but remarkably effective for building both bone and muscle strength.

Now, I feel more hopeful about my next scan and even more committed to my overall health. fit20 has given me a consistency and motivation I never found in a conventional gym. It is not just a workout—it is an investment in yourself. Just twenty focused minutes each week can make a world of difference.

I would highly recommend fit20 to any women who want to improve their bone strength, build muscle, and feel more empowered in their health journey. It is never too late to start getting stronger. And it is absolutely worth it.

Fit20 is now open in Sandyford
